Parquet is a classic type of flooring, often seen in historical buildings and palaces. Parquet blocks are smaller in size, typically not longer than 500 mm. Parquet blocks are manufactured with tongue on right and left side, it allows them to be installed in various patterns like straight, herringbone, squares, etc.
Parquet needs to be sanded after installation, and finishing should be applied afterwards. Typically parquet floors are lacquered or oiled. The best subfloor for parquet installation is plywood or OSB, and the installation technique is by nailing and gluing. But parquet can be also installed on concrete subfloor, provided that they are dry and even.
